Who am, I, am

Tooway

A broken shell of my former self

But that's where wisdom establishes itself

Put on a Pedestal I hated, but it made you happy non the less

That's all I wanted from my infant farther, too bad you didn't grow up to be what I expected....

Teenager angst did treat me well

The outcast with all the school accolades

I loved the tradition, the rest felt putrid, like I was smothered by a gun

Fitting in everywhere and no where

all day all at once, figure out which mask you will wear,

For a day or for life, it's not that bad to put on for a year or a date

as long as it resembles your fate.

My mask, I made. Mine, was truth, honesty and no filter for my thoughts.

These masks made me hated and despised because I could be blunt

But fit me perfectly, as it showed my head and heart

It showed I gave up on man and his kind.

Choose a mask wisely, you will adorn that crown of thorns

Till the day you decide to end your life, by pills, gun or old age.

Make sure you were happy with what you chose and the choices you make.

Nothing hurts more than the mask society wants you to fake.
