The Optimist.

Goldfinch60

Why is it so hard to be an optimist,

In a pessimistic world?

I look at the glass and see it half full,

While most see it half empty.

The world is a wonderful place;

I see smiling faces and happy people.

The good in people is so obvious.

But why do most only look for the bad?

Yes there is bad in the world,

But why look for it in every place.

Look at the places where all is well

And life remains simple and happy.

This world where the blame culture seems to thrive,

There are no longer any accidents

Because if you can hold someone to blame,

It means that a claim can be made,

To get money that you do not deserve.

Accidents do happen, but few see them as that.

Stevie Smith says not waving but drowning,

I say not drowning but waving.

Live for the moment!

It will not come again.

Heehee. The glasses I give out are always half full, with 99% water added! lol.
Someone to 'blame' - a shop assistant was outside smoking. I walked out while waiting. No one serving. Anyone could have shoplifted. She didn't hurry back in, but had a fag. That's bad.

      Thanks for your comment Orchi.

I went into a shop once and there was one person behind the counter and he just walked away as I came in, surely I wasn't that scary with my mask on!

And yes - I thought KP was waving from the sea. She was drowning, but I left her there. Well, I thought she was waving! heehee. But she will be all right - she's a trout, they can swim!

I'll toast to that, then refill my glass!

So true 2781, that glass can always be refilled.

The glass may be half empty
        But it’s also half full
When you open up your mind
        And see life as beautiful

Some people are drawn to the darkness, others to the light. Well penned Andy. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

When asked, "The meaning of things."
The master replied. "Close your eyes and put your fingers in your ears. When I tap your head open both."
He taped the student's head and said, "Which way is more fun?"

            True words Jerry.
