Happy Birthday Chet

Goldfinch60

That day has come once more,

That day he was born

And brought so much joy,

So much joy into my life.

He blows his horn

And the melodious sound

Reaches me in mind and heart.

So many problems in his life,

So full of drugs,

Yet his music never suffered.

His music so important,

So important to me.

So once more as I listen,

Listen to his music,

I wish him Happy Birthday,

Happy Birthday Chet.

      Good write Gold.
An ex-Manager is 81 today. Sadly his first Christmas without his wife. it was not a Happy Easter for them, as she passed away then.

That first Christmas without your wife is not easy, I know.

Yes. I was insensitive on a comment to a poem, not meaning to be, but I rarely get the themes of cryptic-type poems. So for me, brief explanatory notes are included in my poems if need be!

Every time I hear that someone has a birthday I am reminded of how much older I am getting. But music sooths the soul and in remembering all the good tunes I feel better. Great tribute and words Gold.
