Tune: Iris
('Angels from the realms of glory')
Luke 2 v.8-14
********
Humble shepherds, tending your sheep
You do guard them, safe them keep
In your night-vigil an angel
Appeared, glad tidings to tell
Refrain
Glo-o-o-ry to God in the highest
Glo-o-o-ry, Peace on earth, good will, men blest
The glory of the Lord did shine
Around them, the light divine
They greatly afraid, and angel
Said, Fear not, I mean you well - Refrain
For, behold, I bring good tidings
To you, who shall see such things
Tidings of great joy unto all
People, babe in manger-stall - Refrain
There unto you is born this day
In David's city, I say
A Saviour, who is Christ the Lord
He from God, the living Word - Refrain
This shall be a sign unto you
That the babe you shall find true
Wrapped in saddling clothes and laying
In manger, earth, heavens sing - Refrain
Suddenly with the angel there
The heavenly host did share
Praising God in exaltation
Good news unto each nation - Refrain

Orchi I have often thought that many of your hymns need a greater outlet. This one I can hear the music play and would be great to hear playing this time of year.
Thanks SB. One church did use one of my hymns. Another one didn't - but they hardly knew what a 'hymn' was. it was endless, repetitive 'Choruses', and not meaning 'Refrains' within some hymns. Doh!
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
Precious words…
Thanks P.
