Genuine Fakes Going Dirt Cheap
Look at how those
trees
slope at an angle
all the way down
to the side
of that lake over
there ..
Jeez you guys ..
don’t you think
they look just like
some of
T.S Lowries, just
look at
those skyscrapers ..
Each stroke
of his brush leaves
behind,
that guys a genius ..
Who else
could make whole
run of the mill,
street scenes come
alive like that ..
Each stick man, dog,
cat woman or child
is a little
masterpiece in its
own right ..
Yesterday he was
knocking out
huge self-portraits
by Van Goch
and some other guy
from Paris ..
Tomorrow it maybe
Turner’s
turn, who knows,
or a little
Rembrandt perhaps ..
He must
surely make a small
fortune
each day selling
genuine
fakes like that to all
these filthy rich
tourists hereabouts ..

I thought KP looked fake. I said to her 'Take off that mask dear, you look dreadful'. Shie replied 'I have taken it off!' lol. (I knew that really, when I asked her. heehee).
You are more cuckoo than a Bavarian clock sir
Neville this structure takes this poem a step above the subject itself. Loved it.
thank you so much my friend .. Neville
Well N, most filthy rich tourists wouldn't care if its a fake or not. From what I've seen of the filthy rich, all they care about is being filthy rich and that everyone knows it. But you Sir are as genuine as they come. 😉
I do not deserve to be so elevated .. but thank you tho' regardless 🙂
From my point of view, you deserve the view from the top of Mt. Everest, wear your thermal underwear though, a bit chilly up there. 😉
I’m not an admirer of fake anything. I would rather have a print of the original than a fake of it. The painter has to make a living. I would be more inclined to pay interest if he painted in his own genuine style. You’d think that filthy rich tourists would have more savvy. I ain’t rich but I reckon I can tell the difference between an original Van Gogh and one knocked up in a couple of hours. The smell and colour of the paint would be a giveaway. Such an interesting observational poem Neville. Loved it. You are a man of great taste. I know you wouldn’t approve.
Many genuine thanks Cassie ... Neville
Brilliant work.
.. Cheers Tom.
Most forgers of art are genuine artists in their own right but cannot get in money from their own pictures, which I believe is a shame.
Andy
I agree that forgers are artists and many only do it for the reasons you outline but there are others who are out to con and deceive ..
Now you’ve got me going….. A topic which fascinates me, Neville.
Think I may attempt a rhymer on this very subject in the very near future…….
In the meantime, you’ve managed to elicit some condemnation and a wee bit of sympathy for the forgers, whom in general I deeply admire….
if the truth were out .. I do too you old dog ..
