Smoked or unsmoked? That is the question!
Which one is the nobler? Do you have a suggestion?
Each one distinct and unique in its flavour
So tell me, please tell me! Which one do you favour?
The smell of the smoked one, you just can’t compare
To the sniff of the unsmoked that just lingers there
Its smoked salty sweetness, a joy on the tongue
Smoked is the best one, I’m sure I’m not wrong!
But then when the unsmoked is served on crisp toast
I think maybe this one’s the one I like most
A sliver of sauce, must be brown and not red
Perhaps I like unsmoked much better instead
I can’t make my mind up, I’m dazed and confused
When shopping, I gaze at them both, just bemused
I just can’t commit, not pledge one my troth
And so in my basket, you’ll find I have both!

This made me smile on my first day back in the office. Really enjoyed this. And agree it must be brown sauce. 🙂
Thanks, I hope your first day back flies by
BLT's are my favorite sandwitch but this poem is a metafor for the differences in people as well and each has their advantages. Well done
Thank you, I enjoy writing them
Excellent work.
Thankyou 🙂
There is nothing like a bacon sammich
to make the start of my day better, but I always buy unsmoked and it has to be grilled and crisp. I am salivating at the thought. I enjoyed your yummy poem.
Thank you for your kind comments x
Smoke or unsmoked, it don't matter
Cause when eaten, I'm the home run batter 💥⚾
