Banished

sorenbarrett

Not to be lost, I pay the cost, pain slain, guilt's stain

Numb, dumb, soon to succumb

taking a toll, an escaping soul, through a gaping hole

on the ledge, tipping over the edge.... of woulds, giving up all coulds

A tortoise, … escort us, one foot in front of another,

Divorce us, from life, a wife, some other, even a brother

my time flown, thrown like a stone, I have no mother

Now protected, with the past infected, I've resurrected

Never to be the same, back to where I came, only me to blame,

given up on fame, but not shame

At night I sigh, but with dry eye, banished I'll die
