Arise All the Good Things

Rocky Lagou

“The secret to receiving is giving” -

My Aunt (Mi Tía)

Beauty.

Arise all the good things.

Forming loops of smoke,

glittering hues.

Love.

Giving more and more.

Te quiero y te adoraré para

siempre.

Forever.

My love is my art.

My art is my gift to all.

Arise all the good things.

    A fine write R.
I got lost with that bit of French in the middle (French - Eh?!) and rushed for the translate button. lol.

Oh yeah, it’s actually Spanish. Being Hispanic and bilingual has always been essential to my identity, but for whatever reason I’ve never experimented with Spanish in my poetry. I actually really enjoyed showcasing some of my roots though, and might consider writing poems completely in Spanish in the future. The Spanish part translates to “I love you and will adore you forever.” I’m glad you enjoyed the poem, take care.

I thought it was Spanish. It's my joke - any language except English is 'French' to me! lol.

Dearest Rocky, this touches my heart, my soul, my life. It is who you are and will always be. Your aunt is a very wise lady, I love the quote as I do this beautiful poem. God bless dear boy!

Oh thank you so much good poet. To resonate with other people is my goal when it comes to writing. This poem speaks to the goodness of life and highlights literature as a vessel which transmits that goodness. My aunt is an amicable woman that has guided me through my many indecisions. I’m glad you were able to enjoy my poem. God bless you too ❣️
