Haven Of Hope

orchidee

Tune: Mannheim

('Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us')

Psalm 31 v.15-19 & v.23-24

**********

My times are in your hand, O Lord

You the ever living Word

Save me from hand of enemies

And persecutors, my please

These be, and too make your face shine

On me with your light divine

I am your servant, O save me

And let me not ashamed be

For I have called upon you, let

Wicked be silenced e'en yet

For they speak grievous things proudly

Against the good scorningly

O how great is your goodness, you

Have laid it up for those, true

That fear you, that show reverence

And respect as they you sense

You have wrought it for they that trust

In you, though we mere men, dust

O love the Lord, you His saints all

He preserves, keeps the faithful

And too repays those who evil

Do, who not repent at all

Be of good courage, and He shall

Strengthen your heart, hope ne'er fail

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.7.8.7.8.7. Hopefully a help to those in any troubles - we have a personal ongoing matter at present. The hope all flows from the first line surely - 'My times are in your hand, O Lord'.
