( A poem I wrote many months ago on many international poetry sites, when muslims were being killed in Palestine, Syria, Iraq, but it still applies in recent refreshed genocide of Palestinians)
Wars round the corner,
wars at every bend
Could it be that all this warring
would never ever end?
Mass massacre and genocide
is what we fear and apprehend
Selfish apartheid oppressing poor folks On suppressing others they depend!
Why can't folks borrow love
and peace too learn to lend?
For peace-loving persons
wars are hard to comprehend
But in which blessed century
will the world its ways amend?
Why not be all sincere
when peace they recommend?
It's hard to not avenge the dead
So to revenge and defend
some will feel the need to offend
Yet the oppressed dying more is the trend
Why can't we all as Adam's progeny
simply unite and blend?
The world's tearing apart,
which saviour's gonna mend?
When the scissors of tyranny
all peace efforts ruthlessly rend!
When will all the saviours
from heavenly heaven descend?
So we watch and hear all war cries
unto thin air ascend!
When peace be the only choice,
the only probable trend!
Ah, instead of fending off war drums
why peace plans off we fend?
Why peace is so complicated
with double standards at every bend?
Will all state treasuries on aggression alone
their budgets, finances spend?
Why can't every foe we know
turn into a caring friend?
So we're stalked by friendship
and ambushed by love godsend!
A world where warlords
and war heroes become zeroes
who in the first place did offend.
With peace may no nation
merely play and pretend!
Hypocrisy is calling freedom fighters terrorists
while State bombing and shelling they never end.

Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord.
Wordly power and might used for wrong is hated by God yes.
It's prophesied. God is the Lord of all nations, but nations are nothing to Him.
To change the world ,we must start with us,
And excommunicate the sin.
It's a narrow path, brother.
Yes we always opt for peace and try to avoid the sinful path.
Im a sister.
Their even better.
Why when and how indeed.
Your passion, anger and sickness at this and all other war situations comes through clearly. What more can I, totally on your side, add to your words?
I'm so touched that you are on the side of peace, peaceful solutions and ceasefire. You must be of those admirable great souls,
even rabbis and many Jews condemn the zionist killing machine.
Thanks for your great comment, respect.
I might be in the minority with this observation but offering truth is best.
The piece had a point of view based on solid logic provided by declarative phrasing and snd well timed rhythm. Then there is a technique you chose to employ that I don’t understand and I feel it works against the strength of your message and significantly diminishes the power of the poem. There is a school of thought that I’ve come to agree with and it suggests that the use of interrogatories (?question marks) do not add anything worthwhile and in fact can be rewritten is such a way that the technique be completely avoided and the piece is strengthened when all the silly question marks ARE REMOVED. you chose to include 11 of them in my opinion that’s a cutesy style that would serve you well if you skipped it forever.
Ahh come on, i thought only my hubby was a nitpicker. Trust me i have read popular poems with question marks. Besides editing will give me big homework and be a daunting task.
Thanks for your feedback but subject matter and content is more important to me than grammar and different poetic paletes. Cheers.
I accept and respect your response and for the graceful manner on which it was delivered.
Thanks and happy new yr poet Bobby.

the world is in a state of madness civilians pay the greatest price. nice write
Ah, yes Palestinian civilians are being killed for land. How horrific for it to happen in this day and age. Thanks so much for your peace comment in sympathy for civilians.
you are most welcome
Well penned. War has no place on a planet of so many species of life. Empathy goes a long way with peace at hand.
Thanks soo much for

Patience and resilience will triumph !
Yeah the poor Palestinians being killed for land but will resist unto death .
Thanks soo much for hopeful comment for their freedom.
My dear friend this poem brought a lump to my throat, tears to my eyes and pain to my heart, for all those who suffer and die because of the ignorance of mankind. As you so eloquently say, why should peace be so hard to find? If only we had the will to give it a try, to look past our differences and embrace our commonalities, we might just make this world the place it was meant to be. A stunning write dear poet!
My warmest thanks for comment crying with us with concern for humanity and human support for the poor Palestinians undergoing genocide. Your heart of gold shines in kindness ,appreciate.
This is a valiant attempt at trying to understand why there is war.Sadly human beings are animals. Therefore they fight for what they want. That is why I live alone.
War for material gains via killing others is the most brutal animalistic savage war yes.
Thanks soo much for a great humanitarian comment.
Powerful and well written.
Warm thanks for supporting peace.
This poem conveys the truth, in a gentle yet fierce way. It speaks for humanity and peace and makes us look back on our actions. For some reason, this poem soothed the worries in my heart. Wonderful one!
