If

2781

If I can't kick back in the afternoon

To right a riddle,

Or sing a tune;

What's it all about?

If I have to rush around like a blue arse fly

To make me fortune before I die,

What a miserable sod am I.

If I couldn't sit here and commune with my heart

Where the hell would I start.

Don't get me wrong,

I could follow those,

But to me it all seems on the nose.

And by the way-

I love it here.

Kicking back with a smoke and a beer.

Know that I have a sure guide

While others think

I am on the slide.

    Good write 2.
Ahh, inspirations for my next poem's title: maybe, perhaps, possibly, could be; etc. lol.

Loved the rhyme and the message. A good title too, Sir Rudyard Kipling stole it first for one of my favorite poems. "If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing there's and blaming it on you"

Thank you. I, as all of us, love it, and the pay day will come.

Cracked it I think - each to their own, but certainly I 'm not a ' blue arse fly' and enjoy life without striving for 'a fortune'
Lazy? Yes probably. but I don't give a.......

Well you'll know what I say,
                Praise the Lord!

Yeh I know wat you say, but I don't think that is what it is about.
