A Sight Well Worth Going Blind For

The day began with a fragrance

that reminded me of you

as it drifted in from somewhere

   outside in the garden ..

And for a moment then, maybe

even two, I dare not

move, nor open either eye ..

Through fear of frightening you

   away again, my darling ..

But then came the touch and the

aftertaste so many

warriors and lovers have each

   chosen to die for ..

When you appear naked like that

at the foot of their beds

tis a sight well worth, going blind for ..

I wear dark glasses every night, so the sight of KP is dimmed. I couldn't bear the full, clear view of her! I would never recover. lol.

No personal meaning attached to this, re spectacles. I may put my big foot in it, if I interpret some cryptic poems wrongly - not that this a cryptic one.

if you dig a hole any deeper you will end up in your very own crypt Steven .. 😎

I suppose the answer is not to start digging the hole. Doh!

Love begins with the physical attractions and is remembered in the same way. This poem is a wonderful tribute to a lover. We all remember loves from the past and present with the greatest fondness. Whether it be a "fragrance, a "taste" or a "touch" that initiates the memory the sensation is felt as real. Wow, what a tender way to express one's love for another. _ Phil A.

You are, as is almost always the case incredibly astute and insightful Phil .. and far too generous my good fellow .. Neville
