Not so happy holidays

It’s a new year

And supposedly 

A new me

“In with the new

Out with the old”

God how many times 

has that stupid phrase been told?

A year has gone by

So what’s this year's resolution 

I’m supposed to try

Should I start to work out

Or learn to cook

Things like sauerkraut 

Oh look

Fireworks are going off

“We’re ending the year with a bang”

I try not to scoff

Of course, you’d say that with your brand-new Mustang

I hold back an annoyed leer

As somebody says with a cheer

“We made it through another year!”

Now people are gonna make resolutions 

She’s gonna start a new career

And he’s gonna start looking for better solutions

Get a new TV with high-resolution

We made it through the holidays

And they felt like average days

Boy do I feel drained

On Christmas day it literally rained

Is it just me

Or has the holiday season

Been a bit of a bust.

I can’t find a reason.

The decorations are collecting dust

And some of the ornaments have rust

Still, this holiday doesn’t seem right

I’m not saying this out of spite

Still, Christmas feels like It came and went 

Without even saying hello 

Maybe it’s just cause I've been feeling low. 

Don’t take me wrong 

I still enjoy a good Christmas song

But, Christmas didn’t feel 

Like Christmas this year

I’m being honest

So surely you get the gist

Other than the presents in the morning

And it was kinda boring 

I’d rather still be snoring

It felt like just another day to deal

This year Christmas just didn’t feel real

I’ve lost all of my holiday zeal

The holidays came and went

Now I can't help but feel spent

Cause of a stupid little argument

The New Years passed me by 

Fireworks were going off like the 4th of July

During New Years Eve

And all i wanna do is leave 

I need a little bit of reprieve 

Holidays are supposed to be fun

But if I’m being honest I think I’m done

My mind’s still stuck in 2021
