Days pass, yet there
is nothing to do.
All I can do is sit
here and think of you.
The snow rages on
I wish for summer instead
But the cold blankness just
makes me feel sad and dead
A part of me dies
every winter long
But I do love the cardinals
Belting out their songs
I feel detached of
everything going on
So taken for granted
This is no fun.

I love the allegorical feel of this poem. I can see the bleakness of winter while the loved one is absent, until he returns in spring, as does the Cardinal. Beautifully penned!
Thank you so much bella!! Very appreciated!
How is it in the USA just now? I'm in the UK.
northern states are having snow storms and southern states have rain and a few tornadoes.
We've not seen a few tornadoes here lately, and probably not as much snow as you're having.
Those cardinals will take you to a finer place in your mind Christina and life will get better.
Andy
I appreciate the kind words and uplifting thoughts!
Better days are on the way Christina. My Mother loved Cardinals too. Now she sings with them in Heaven. 🐦
yes, many think that cardinals are a symbol or a sign from heaven. Thank you for your kind words!
