On a clear night like this
The moon is glorious and white
in the sky
the stars shine and sparkle
above the Tesco Extra
and the kebab shop
the milky white moon-glow
reflecting on the shutters
of the bookies
on the corner.

Thanks, Dave. Yeah there was a lovely clear sky last night, over the inner city street. Cheers, Tom.
Reminds me of home π wonderful imagery I don't remember too many times I saw the open skies and the stars in London, but I will remember this.
Thanks Teddy. Yeah, it was a lovely clear night, for a change. In Manchester we don't get many of those either. π
Was clear skies last night here too (east coast on US). One of my favorite past times is stargazing. Excellent write Tom. π
Thanks a lot, AP. We don't get too many clear skies where I live but last night it was just amazing. Cheers, Tom.
When you experience such a moment, no matter where, it is a gift. You describe the scene so beautifully that I can imagine all else around you fading into the background. Truly a lovely write!
Yes, it was a lovely clear night. I came home and the moon and the starts over the urban setting stayed with me. Thanks for your comments. Really appreciated.
That is precisely what poems are .. moments captured .. simple as that .. write on Tom .. Neville
Thanks mate, appreciate your comments. I'm still finding my way with poetry, always been more of a short story writer. Cheers, Tom.
A vivid portrayal with an endearing sentiment. Love it!
Thanks a lot for your comments, Eugene. Really appreciated.
I could see that street Tom.
Andy
Thanks, Andy, appreciated. The sky was just beautiful the other night, in contrast to the urban street beneath. It really was something. Cheers, Tom.
Beautiful
