Tune: Old Hundredth
('All people that on earth do dwell')
Based on a prayer by St Clement (1st Century AD)
***********
We beseech you, Master, to be
Our help, protector, company
Save the afflicted, have mercy
On the lowly by your grace free
Raise up the fallen, and appear
To the needy, to them draw near
Heal the ungodly and restore
Wanderers to your fold e'ermore
Feed the hungry, and ransom too
Our prisoners, they known to you
Raise up the sick, and comfort bring
To faint-hearted, strength 'neath your wing

Let him sing, but you Orchi stay silent. 😁👍
Heehee yes, thanks AP.
😁
I like old prayers & old poems, but then I'm just an old fashioned guy who likes to hedge his bets and keep his options open .. Neville
Thanks N.
I tried to sing your hymn because I know the tune well. I think you write far better than I can sing 🙂
Thanks C. But I'm supposed to be one of the world's worst singers - on here, as an 'in-joke'. lol. Anything to get people practising singing, I say!
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
