Another One of Those Café Moments
The café was not exactly
heaving
but was not empty either
and for
some reason or another,
the jukebox
only played old sixties
number ones ..
Then after taking breakfast
as shy as
I then was, I watched her
shaking off
excess salt from nimble
fingertips ..
With eyes down, one more
thimble
full of tears was filled ..
That was
indeed, the moment when
I realised
I did not like myself at all,
nor what
I have since then become ..
Blinded by
her beauty but oh’ so very
fucking dumb ..

Really captured the scene. Very well done, Neville.
It used to be a regular thing ..... a very long time ago now mind .. Cheers Tom .. Enjoy today & may you have a great weekend my friend. Neville
Well, it couldn't have been KP in the cafe - beauty?! lol.
I think it could have been .. Sometimes one doesn't see what is write in front of them .. I'm talking about beauty, not about the litter tray .. I presume you do have one ..
I'm cruel - so you saw an old trout come into the cafe? Squeak, squeak, got my litter tray! lol.
Hey, old 60's # 1 songs ROCK. But I was that shy one too back then. 🙄
some of us neva grow out of it ................ do we😎👍
Looks around....not from where I'm standing. 😁
Shy boy. I always liked them best. That’s because I was a shy girl. You took me to the scene. I recognized it. You didn’t notice me. I was in the corner drinking a vanilla milkshake. Have a fab weekend Neville.
...................Damn, that was you .. I just thought I had no chance .. then you were gone, but not forgot .. 💜
That focus on physical beauty - something I've fought against within myself (among a number of other discomforting characteristics I have no intention of disclosing here) for most of my life.......
Thanks for the prompt, Neville.
I imagine if you had applied yourself with a tongue like that you would have been invited to many a party sir dog .. Neville
Wonderful words Neville, took me back to those days in the sixties where music was good and the girls were so good to look at by a shy one like me.
Andy
