Three-Part Harmony

AuburnScribbler

In a world missing unity,

there is a need to mend,

measuring bulbosity,

does indeed offend,

as markets grow, flesh does die,

to conquer only ash,

where scaredy sheep, won’t ask why,

fearing system’s lash,

but, as the poisons, make the mud,

there are three strands of rope,

that sing a song, maintain the good,

rebuilding up the hope,

ear-worming into stonehead,

composing some relief,

as sickness is; Westminster fed,

to make a dead belief,

amidst all the car horns,

three tones speak their peace,

they will surely, keep you warm,

a trusty friendly fleece,

for, a three-part harmony,

truly is the goal,

even if you’re far away,

they will feed your soul.

  • Comment from author about the poem: In such a sorry world, an awful lot needs to be repaired, but it has to come from within. For an actual change, to me, begins by getting rid of something that isn't working anymore and is causing a lot of grief, in order to provide the space needed for a much better replacement. To tolerate the same hate, by shuffling, (or more to the point, RE-shuffling) it around, ISN'T a change for the better! So, with this in mind, after a great rehearsal recently, which had some lovely choral work in it, I wrote this, of which I hope is a mantra of positivity. The accompanying banner picture, of the three ladies, remind me of the band, Haim, made up of three Californian sisters, who also like my band rehearsal, (if I do say so myself), comprise a sweet "Three-Part Harmony", of which, acts as an example, of the good things that can happen, if we just work together. I hope that you enjoy the poem, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Very true Ben, but I would put it into four part harmony lie the Choirs in which I have sung and am singing.

Thanks for the read Andy, and I'm glad that you're in good voice too.

I hope that all is well.
