Tune: Hursley
('Sun of my soul, thou Saviour dear')
Based on a prayer by St Jerome (c.342 - 420AD)
**********
O good shepherd, come, seek me out
Inspire me with faith, remove doubt
Bring me home to your fold again
You who are Saviour of all men
Deal favourably with me here
According to your good pleasure
Till I may dwell in your house all
The days of my life and ne'er fall
And to praise you for evermore
Joining in glad company sure
With them that are there by your grace
From each nation, country, and race

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. In the last line, I have not put 'every creed'. It's not in the original prayer, and sadly, not everyone from every creed (belief, following, etc) is going to 'be there'. The hymn is by John Keble, one of my favourite hymn-writers, from just over 200 years ago.
