Rue-anda

AuburnScribbler

When will Blighty learn,

it’s no longer, landlord,

no more cash to burn,

for nothing, can afford,

over there, they copy,

the method that was shown,

over poisoned coffee,

dealing more warzones,

to live, is not illegal,

a choice, may well be,

smokescreen legal eagle,

won’t see, what is free,

thus, protective tariff,

is another scam,

a party-made; hieroglyph,

that clearly, is no plan,

Johnson set it up,

Sunak’s human post,

leaving now, nowhere to sup,

who will play the host?

As UK is so bursting,

tattered are their seams,

they themselves are thirsting,

shattered are their dreams,

elephant; in the room:

the way they operate,

such routine; makes their doom,

their love; results in hate,

permissions are now ridden,

just grab them by the hips,

“rapes, get no provision”,

just listen to Phillips,

so, UK, please heal yourself,

before you play a friend,

perhaps redefine the twelfth,

your protests, never end,

Rwanda’s such a sorry state,

made by British weather,

Rwanda’s poor revolving gate,

at least they’re all together.

  • Comment from author about the poem: If a miscarriage of justice in the UK postal system, isn't enough heartache, a migration issue will rub salt in the wound. For those not in the know, the Rwanda bill, in the UK, is about sending asylum seekers who have arrived without permission in the UK, to Rwanda, though there are deep divisions in the Conservatives about such a plan, for the way in which Rwanda governs itself, there are an awful lot of issues regarding basic human rights, thus, it's not the ideal choice to relocate such desperate people. The UK, though still a somewhat prevalent political force, as an entity, is just a small island, therefore there simply isn't enough room to contain such an overwhelmingly growing population, but with such a sense of "historical responsibility", there is a case, of the UK, to act both humanely and amicably. Hence, I felt compelled to write a somewhat satirical poem about it, of which I hope is both informative, and enjoyable. Like all things that are suffering at the moment, I hope that certain remedies can be made, and more importantly taken, to heal such a broken world. As always, please do stay safe everyone.

Remigration is now a global european policy .

Thanks for the read Lorenz, and to echo your comment, in my opinion, it is indeed the zenith of frustration to live in a place, where there is a commanded respect towards such questionable pieces of paper, that call themselves policies.

I hope that all is well.

A fine write my friend, on a subject that bears universal conversation about who we are as human beings. We have a southern border crisis here in my own country, with bitter divisions as to what to do, it has been going on for decades, and I can't see any resolution ever coming when the two political parties can't agree on anything. I've often wondered what those in opposition would do if the tables were turned, and they were the asylum seekers.
It's too easy to say no when it's not happening to you. Love your courage, love your words!

      • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read and for favouriting this poem Bella, it's very much appreciated.

I can only imagine the political turbulence that is happening between your USA and Mexico, it's a very similar thing indeed, and needs to be dealt with, with tact, and hopefully what your comment yearns for, an actual agreement in the House. Also, with Trump back on the scene, his proverbial "wall" will certainly come back, to act as a symbol of prejudice, which is the poison, that as a global family, we're trying to avoid.

Additionally, in your comment, you mentioned a role reversal, which clearly is a point well made; when sending an actual message home to certain leaders, but, sadly, when such a system is ran by such political hustlers, who want to hold on to as much power as possible, they've conditioned themselves to forget what a role reversal is. Perhaps a definition of dehumanization, is to remain in politics for too long, in order to become a villain, instead of a hero people set out to be.

Again, thanks for such lovely comments, and I hope that all is well.

          Perfectly said my friend!

Yes - Australia has been at it too and has sometimes been cited as a model for such migration policies. I think strenuous efforts have been made to modify or almost dismantle overseas processing, but as in many areas of Govt policy absolute irrefutable facts are hard to find. But I do believe Australia can claim to be a pioneer in this field...........!

          • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Doggerel Dave, and I know very little about the efforts that Australia is doing regarding migration, but thanks to your informative comment, I know a little more now. I will read more on their efforts in regards to the above subject.

I hope that all is well.

I agree with you words Ben, what right have we to send people to other countries!

            Andy

            • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read Andy, and yeah, RIGHTS. They seem to be treated like trinketed gifts you find in a game of "pass the parcel."

Like your comment states, I agree that RIGHTS are by far more important to be treated like a petty privilege amassed by the seizing of power. Everyone alive has the right, not just the despots who hold the "keys to the kingdom".

I hope that all is well.
