How Many More Planets

How many more planets

does mankind

have to screw, before we

learn what not

to do and eventually begin

   to see the light ..

A good point well made, Neville.

Like one of my earlier poems, "The Clock is Ticking People". And it's not enough that we litter Earth, but now we also litter on the Moon and Mars. Really great write N. ๐Ÿ‘

although I have long been aware of the risks mankind poses to this wonderful planet of ours, it was your earlier poem that served as the inspiration for todays little scribble and so I feel obliged to thank you doubly brother AP .. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘Neville

When one finds a far off planet, even futher than Pluto (if that's a planet now?) I will send KP on a one-way ticket there!

          • Neville

I bet she can hardly wait ..

            • orchidee

I will of course be there to wave her goodbye!

"Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest above the stars, thence I will bring thee down, saith the Lord."

that's probably why I always try to figure out at least a couple of escape routes before setting off on one ..

Maybe one or twoโ€ฆ.but itโ€™s a very local issue โ€“ the Universe wonโ€™t noticeโ€ฆ.. or mindโ€ฆ.. So cheer up Neville โ€“ Eternity or Infinity wonโ€™t even have to scratch the itch.

I hope it don't happen on my watch, or my children's, or my childrens, children's watch ๐Ÿ’›โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Thank you for a very soft rejection/redirection, Neville.

Apologies also: I was feeling in a very nihilistic mood yesterday.

The answer is 13. I just hope it's not Uranus. I couldn't resist. Great writing brother.

Great point! I fear though, if we saw the light it would probably be neon, advertising. We have a small town in my state of Missouri that advertises a fudge shop, we've seen the billboard as we travel the highway. It reads "The best fudge in the world comes from Uranus", which is the name of the town. I don't know, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad planet to go to, if they have fudge. It is in truth no laughing matter, and I wonder when the tipping point will come. Good write my friend!

                            Bless you Bella ..

It's already too late, because we haven't learned the necessary skills to cooperate and care for this planet. We are too busy warring over land or race or religion. If we could travel elsewhere, we wouldn't last there any longer than we will here. We are ignorant of planet care. - Phil A.

Such true words Neville, maybe one day those in power may see what they are doing to our world.....but don't hold your breath.

Not content with polluting our own planet, our species wants to travel further and cause mayhem elsewhere. What a thought. Leave the lovely moon alone. She is aloof for a reason. She just wants to be looked at. Good Saturday morning Neville. Have a happy weekend.

                                  • Neville

I wholeheartedly agree with you that time might be running out. Knowing the human race, we would fuck up a second chance at it too!
