Holey Land (Palestine’s Alight) (Friend of Palestine)

AuburnScribbler

Such a role reversal,

is Teutonic Jew,

for holy is infernal,

on the streets they sew,

to copy fine example,

building up Empire,

look beneath the rubble,

is the heart of their desire,

to shake a hand is hard,

but war, they make so easy,

no Wailing Wall regard,

just repeat the squeezing,

of the words, that Jesus said,

they fill, Israeli pockets,

upon land; not theirs; they’ve bled,

replacing prayers with rockets,

no Saints here, in Holey Land,

just sinners, and the ghosts,

result of such a human plan,

the proud destructive hosts,

if law is now the scripture,

a wrong is their delight,

to paint a broken picture,

called: Palestine’s Alight.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Of course, without any ignorance at all, my "poetic elephant in the room" I feel, now had to be shared. It is an ongoing travesty happening in Palestine at the moment, with the continuous torment by Israeli "landlords" trying to scrub out the natives, via such ironic Nazi like methods. Again, it is another case of humanity making a concentrated effort; to be barbarically imperfect, by being both politically greedy, and mangling the words of scripture. In all horrors in the world, I hope our barbaric clumsy talking monkey species can actually wake up, to mend such a mess very soon. The accompanying banner picture of the stones, to me is the closest visual in the selection to rubble. Rubble that is constantly made in such an unnecessary and damaging conflict, thus, to me, each pebble poignantly represents a life that has been lost so needlessly. I hope that you enjoy the poem, PLEASE STOP BEING A SLAVE TO EVIL TRENDS, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

    A very relevant reflection !

Thanks for the read Lorenz, and for your short and sweet comment, it's very much appreciated.

I hope that all is well.

        You're welcome dear ''scribbler '' !

I often wonder of the outcome if we turned the other cheek.

        • AuburnScribbler

Thanks for the read 2781, and yeah, if only there were such things as, understanding "one's own business", and the purified practice of common decency. But in a world that is getting smaller, and the desperation to own things getting higher, the other cheek, I fear, will never be turned. Such a travesty humanity creates!

Anyway, got to (as my new book of poetry title says), keep our "Chin Up, Chest Out!"

I hope that all is well.

Such true words Ben, if only they realised.

Thanks for the read Andy, and yeah, it is time for a reality check, on both sides it would seem, to stop all the heartache.

How can they find the "middle ground", when most of the place keeps on getting destroyed?

I hope that all is well.
