A poem like an embryo begins in the mind,
more than often conceived in the blind.
Created and born of a kind.
Its nature set and defined.
It is formed with love and birthed in pain.
Predetermined when born, its destiny to maintain.
Whether great or less its genes do contain
the course of it's future campaign.
After birth, its appropriateness may be adjusted,
but its character can be trusted
to uplift or leave those that see it disgusted,
no matter how many times it is dusted

Dear sorenbarret
You have just described the birth of a poem perfectly
A poem like an embryo begins in the mind,
more than often conceived in the blind.
Created and born of a kind.
Its nature set and defined
Wow loved all the stanza's but what language you do use. Simply beautiful. And yes mine are ever evolving. Kudos. ❤️
Thanks for the review Teddy it is most appreciated
An odd process, but you've got its essence, I believe Soren. After its birth, the process, as you point out, is ever evolving. Thanks for some poetic clarity here.
Thanks Dave, yes an odd process indeed thanks so much for the read and comment it is valued.
An interesting idea of the birth of a poem. Great work soren. 😉👍
Thanks Accidental loose thoughts rolling through the mind after reading poems automated ratings on another site, monkeying with the poem and finding that the ratings don't change regardless of changing words or rhyme
Automation equals unpersonal, without feelings and emotions. Like asking a computer to write a poem of love, pain or elation. Your loose thoughts are far more interesting than automated ratings soren. keep that quill wet. 😉👍
Good write SB.
Thanks orchi
Excellent poem, SB! I liked that the poem is ''formed with love and birthed in pain''' Some of my poems are, so I can relate. Such a descriptive poem you have, I enjoyed reading it!
Thank you so much Christina your comment is deeply valued as always
Powerful work and great use of rhyme.
Thanks Thomas your comment is cherished.
The embryo bears the print of its progenitor, and this poem the inimitable print of its creator. Beautifully versed in style, flow, and rhyme, the progeny is perfect.
You are too kind Bella I thank you for your read and insightful kind comment it is deeply valued.
