Tune: Herongate
('It is a thing most wonderful')
Based on an Ancient Collect/Prayer
*********
Lighten our darkness, Lord, we pray
Shine your light and it shall be day
And in your mercy us defend
Us from all dangers to the end
All dangers and perils of night
That seek to us oppress, affright
Hear our prayer, through the love of your
Son Jesus Christ who lives e'ermore
And so waking fresh to each day
Guide us in all we do and say
To do your will, not self-will do
But grow more daily knowing you
