If Every Day’s a Monday

AuburnScribbler

If every day’s a Monday,

my reboots are in vision,

so easy to waste life away,

such is; human decision,

so, if every day’s a Monday,

my birth occurs once more,

sell my story, have my say,

my worth, across the floor,

thus, if every day’s a Monday,

mistakes are self-forgiven,

no suicide, prolonged dismay,

something will be delivered,

hence, if every day’s a Monday,

I’ll find the strength to be,

to keep my weary tears at bay,

and not be drowned by sea.

  • Comment from author about the poem: January and February are "shin kicker" months for me, as my work in the music industry isn't regular, as venues themselves are also somewhat suffering from the hangover of relentless expenditure of December. I could get something else, as extra income, but drifting through life, job after job, that offers no mental satisfaction, induces a sense of not belonging, thus, loneliness will be added to my seasonal depression and anxiety. With this in mind, I try to think on the positives, that every day is a new day. However, Monday in of itself, I regard as a day of reinvention. So, "if every day's a Monday", it encourages me and I hope you, to press a proverbial refresh button, that I hope, creates the building blocks of a better future. I hope that you enjoy, and take something from this poem, try to maintain that smile, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.
