Anyone who has suffered this deeply can feel this verse. A sad and somewhat dark song (poem) it is very powerful. The chorus
"I don't want to wake
leave me here to dream"
is highly identifiable and I am sure that I have been there before.
So very kind of you to notice dear sorenbarret it's written after the death of one of my best friends her husband was left holding the baby they were soulmates in every sense, I cannot help reflect on how awful it was and will always be for him now alone with his son. It was in the final of a contest in the UK I didn't win (I never expected too get so far) a piece of work that reflects many of my poems. Now I can share once again dark, yet hopefully relative to those like us who have lost love. 🌹
