Prayer Providings

orchidee

Tune: Hereford

('O thou who camest from above')

Psalm 40 v.1-5 and v.16-17

********

I waited patient for the Lord

He looked upon me, heard my word

That I did speak, unto Him pray

He came to be my help and stay

He brought me up out of deep pit

With His light once again He lit

The path before me, He my guide

His Spirt in my heart resides

He on a rock did set my feet

Did not allow me be defeat[ed]

And a new song has given me

Even praise to my God it be

So many shall see, trust and fear

And declare that the Lord is near

Blessed they be that the Lord they make

Their trust, and for their hope Him take

Many, O Lord, my God, we see

Your wondrous works, all great they be

And your thoughts to us numberless

Your will, your intent, us to bless

Let all that seek you here rejoice

And be glad in you with one voice

Let such as love you salvation

Say, Lord, be great o'er each nation

But look to me, poor and needy

Lord, think on me, from troubles free

You my help, my deliverer

Delay not Lord, to my aid stir
