Always Respect.

Goldfinch60

In this life you see many people

And all behave differently.

If you find people respect you

You must respect them as well,

But if they disrespect you

You must still respect them.

Do not allow the poor actions of others

Decrease the good manners you have

Because that is who you are

And you represent yourself

And must not be dragged down,

Dragged down by the actions of others.

You are who you are

And must remain that decent respectful person,

Remain that decent person all the while,

And show respect to all.

Respect is learned from the generation prior to your own. Great write Andy. 😉👍

The "ME" generation is in full swing Andy. And I'm sad to say, they are the future of the world. 🙄

A credit to ya? - you just haven't been disrespected enough, you ratbag ....LOL. LOL, LOL....

          • Goldfinch60

I have been disrespected Dave but it does not affect my respect for all.

The dignified response I expected, Andy - no more than I expected. However there are deeper issues here, although 'here' is quite possibly not the right venue to debate them.

It seems that many miss this lesson in their upbringing. Why do some respect ? For the same reason others do not, it's how they were brought up. "Judge not" Christians and Jews as well as Muslims say they believe. If this were true everyone would respect everyone else. Good write Andy

Such inspiring words my friend, beautifully said. Incredible piece of music, I remember Robert Merrill well. Listening to those two voices, equally entwined, the perfect metaphor for this poem. Loved it all!
