And The Winner Is?

Teddy.15

If I was the judge
I’d choose my poem to win
well, why not?
I’m the true decider
I’m the one with the grin

I’d say to myself
oh, how I bow to your talent
your brilliant mind too
I wish if I could be anything
I wish I could be like you

I would applaud myself and say
what comedy you do write
and…
oh, how you inspire me
on this cold winter’s night

I’d award myself the Pulitzer prize
and measure up my shelf
to put my new found trophy
that I’ve won all by myself

if I was the judge
my poem would win
and all you folk behind me
can put yours in the bin

I would do this, just because I can
my grandad would be laughing
champers in hand for my gran

when it comes to fandom
I'll teach you something new
the only true fan of yours
is really only you.

Yep - one (read 'me') needs a certain amount of egotistical self pride to pin anything up here - it may be misguided, but there you go.......

      • Teddy.15

LOL well as you know the great teddy has no ego and certainly no shame, sharing with you lot has it's moments and those of oscar too lol. Thanks Dave. 🌹

No shame is the key - should be more widely practiced. Stay the course, Teddy.

How true Teddy. I write for myself alone but love to share. Of the poems that I have read on this and other sites some seem greater than the most famous. What makes a poem great is the emotion it conveys and some by luck become famous but it is luck them famous not great. So well said Teddy
