Shadow of time dissolves under a cloud
images, put away and folded
Sands in a glass fall so loud
jagged shards from silica molded
Wandering grains of fears
melted into a transparent wall
shattered with hammer's leers
sun painted illusions, in the desert crawl
Dentures for a gear
twisted hands scratch a face
Time runs backwards in fear
death wins a three legged race

Kudos especially for the imagery and your last lines just superb, love the vision at the end it gave me the shivers 🌹 I've always been fascinated with time and clocks but sundials especially, we ha e some pretty special ones here in Tuscany.
As always my friend your words have cheered my day and given me encouragement. Thank you so much for the read and most kind words.
A fine write SB. Do sundials know when the clocks go back/forward?
I been struggling with this dang iron sundial, trying to put it back an hour, but it won't budge! lol.
You got it all wrong Orchi it's the sun you have to set back an hour. Hey friend thanks for the read and comment.
I'm just taking off in a rocket today, to reach the Sun. I'll have a great suntan when I get back! heehee.
"time and tide wait for no man" - yours a much richer explanation, Soren.
(If you happen to like thrillers as a means of relaxation try 'The Lost Man' By Jane Harper.)
We can't control it, we can only watch as it passes. But we feel the need to constantly measure it. Incredible write my friend, each stanza a facet of that which we can never hold onto.
Well put Bella it slips through our fingers. Thanks so much for the read and most kind words.
Good one soren, time is so timeless in our lives.
