Teddy.15

And as I burnt the midnight oil

that everyone speaks of

I finally awoke to find
the ashes of my being

smothered on the very cobbles

that gave me life.

You might like the series Hazbin in Hell. Who knows? I know about burning midnight oil, though.
Exhaustion, whew! Know that feeling. Especially when I used to read by kerosene lamp.

That's what you call rising from the ashes. Nice poem!

I have to say I have never been there myself. Wonderful wording and images. Provoking thoughts.

Thank you dear sorrenbarret, the best hang over cure is really just to drink tea in the first place. 🌹 Thank you dear friend.
