Je Reviens

Cassie58

i will return

says the perfume

a promise in a

bottle of midnight

blue ….

today for the sake

of old times

she wore it anew

with a pledge

its fragrance is lasting

it lingers ….

yes it lingers for you …

green floral

with a hint of narcissus

and a touch of English rose

I suppose she is saying

something as old as

the Malvern Hills

here for all time

refreshed

drenched in summer’s rain

where there is love

patient darling

there is also pain

With you on love poetry. A sudden scent, fragrance can evoke (and has) a memory definitely not forgotten, just filed, from years back.
Your poem served as that scent in absentia.

At last .. I'm in .. just wanted to let you know I came by earlier (well yesterday actually) but was unable to leave even a trace of myself behind .. except for a like .. I was the first to leave a like .. and that by the way was a massive understatement .. my personal very most favouwritest scent in the whole wide world perfumedly wrapped up in a love poem .. most assuredly one of the best and what's more, you may never truly know how much my senses were tickled .. am tempted to sniff the screen .. thank you for posting Neville πŸ’œ

Sadly my inefficiency at navigating this site on my phone has managed to lock others out too Neville. So pleased your senses were tickled.and I thank you for such a warm review. I have a bottle of this perfume on my dressing table. I might even wear it today. Make sure your day is happiness filled dear friend. πŸ’œ

Your poem is a beautiful reflection on memory, love, and the enduring nature of emotions. The imagery of perfume as a promise, with its lingering fragrance, is powerful and evocative. The mention of specific scents like narcissus and English rose adds a sensory depth to the poem. Wonderful!

I love the way this is written without a specific narrator as if a unfaced voice is speaking form the beyond. The imagery is wonderful and the ending sublime
