Well the day had come,
The day when I played croquet,
Played for the first time this year.
The three of us went out,
Went out onto the lawn
On this sunny February day.
There was a chill in the air
But the lawn was perfect.
So we started our games,
Two against one
As was usual in the games
That we three play,
So we end up playing three matches
One against the other two.
The first game I played with Richard,
And it showed that I had not played,
Not played for a while.
I could hit the ball straightish
But not hard enough.
It slowly got better
But Bob won.
The second match I played alone,
Alone against Richard and Bob,
And this game I played so well,
The old me was back
And I won easily.
The final game Richard was on his own
I still played well
But he won.
A great morning was had
As we were playing the game we loved
In the company of good friends.
And we will play every Friday now,
And that is why we have our own name,
As we are “The Friday Boys”.

Two against one, that's not fair :). But that's what friends are for..
We each swap around and it nearly always happens that the single player beats the pair as it did on all three occasions this time rhm_7. Yes that is certainly what good friend are for.

I imagine if the grass hasn't been cut that it would have an impact on how well the ball rolls. But as long as you're all enjoying the game, that's what counts. Play on Friday Boys. 😊👍
We were playing at Cheltenham Croquet Club which is the hub of world croquet and the lawns were immaculate AP.
Thank you for you kind words.
