When first they met it was so sweet
A zest for life a world to beat
Love may be blind but smells a cheat
He tried so hard to fly
The honeymoon was boiling hot
Flaws overlooked and sins forgot
A mansion house replaced the squat
He tried so hard to fly
The grass upon his cultured lawn
The first light of his breaking dawn
The victim of her fatal con
He tried so hard to fly
Her plumage's seductive spell
The million lies she had to tell
Had dragged him to the gates of hell
He tried so hard to fly
The hand he held though never won
Squeezed on the trigger of her gun
She rode into the setting sun
And left him there to die

Wow! Great poem!!
Thank you very much
Truly appreciate your time to read and comment
Much obliged
What can I say, this is AMAZING!! You know I always love your rhyme and meter but the content in this one is simply magnificent! You describe flying, as falling in love feels as such but overlooking her flaws to a tragic end. It was sad, true, but I hope you'll share your talents with us some more.---Christina
Can't thank you enough Christina
Always enthusiastic and so kind
Feeling the love
And loving the feeling
Extremely grateful as always
You write well. Seems like this one had another chapter. ?
Cheers Bobby
You got me thinking now
I had it as chapter closed
Many thanks
