A little lively, a bit talkative and careless,
I used to be, she rasped.
“Why so silent now?”
The silence replied, words dismissed.
“Weren’t you always like this?” a voiced hissed,
For others maybe, she answered.
“Am I so silent? Is it irritating?” I hesitated.
A smile graced the 8-year-old's lips, pure and secure.
"No," she whispered, a beacon of innocence and grace,
“Silent or talkative, be yourself and live it”
She vanished, a fleeting wisp in time's storm.

- Comment from author about the poem: I might have changed a little. A little more reserved, a little more silent but truly I am still that little anxious kid.

Aren't we all Meera? There's a little part of that 8 year old in all of us. Very well penned. 😉👍

I love this! The dialogue with your younger self was a nice touch. The ending's message about embracing your true self was powerful. Great job!

“Silent or talkative, be yourself and live it”, yes and don't think about what others want you to be.
