So many people compete,

Compete with others,

To try and be better,

Be better than they are,

Than they are in life.

I just do not understand,

I am in competition with no one,

Not in life.

I run my own race

And do not play the game,

Play the game of being better,

Being better than anyone else,

Better than anyone else in life.

I just aim to improve,

To be better than I was ,

Better than I was before.

That is me in my life

And because of the way,

The way I am

I am free,

Free to live my life,

To live my wonderful life.

            I have been listening to music, mainly classical and jazz, for over 70 years, music has always been in my life.
