Unbounded

Teddy.15

As I sail upon my very own vessel
on this, the vicious tempestuous
boundless ocean

I’m ever aware that my delicate dreams
are unfulfilled
lying deep within my dying heart

dreams of mine
that could never become reality

often wondering
if this magnificent mast ever snapped
would anything really change at all?

could I possibly sail off
into a magnificent sunset?

or eventually drown in these
the starving waves

that I call life?

Full of metaphorical agony. And since I've always claimed to not understand metaphor, I'm going to stay with that but hope you don't tear yourself apart but charge forward and give us more poems.
              (This one's OK even๐Ÿ˜‰)

              • Teddy.15

Dear Dave I do like to keep myself varied in my writing, a gloomy Sunday nothing but rain and of course, come what may I'll never give in. Thank you. ๐ŸŒน

                • Doggerel Dave

I can relate to the 'gloomy Sunday nothing but rain' and really know you are stronger than that, Teddy. Take care.

Without a mast, you need a motor. Good set of metaphors. All ships have a crew, so one must be implied.

Beautiful thoughts in beautiful words. Wistful in nature almost surreal.

                        • Teddy.15

Dear sorrenbarret, thank you as always for your very kind words. Always appreciated ๐ŸŒน

Very good words Teddy and I am sure that many on this site will crew that boat so that nothing bad happens when you sail on the ocean of joy.

Your poem vividly portrays life as a tumultuous ocean, with dreams lying unfulfilled in a dying heart. It's a powerful exploration of resilience and hope. Great job!

Of course. I would love if you would look at some of mine and share some insights, as you're clearly a lot more well-practiced than me.
