Confident Comfortings

Tune: Ellers

('Saviour, again to thy dear name we raise')

Isaiah 26 v.1-9

*************

We shall this song sing throughout Judah's land

That a strong city we have by God's hand

Salvation for walls, bulwarks, He appoints

He shall not leave us, us not disappoints

Open you the gates, that [the] righteous nation

Which keeps the truth sure now may enter in

You will keep them in perfect peace whose mind

Is stayed on you, confidence they shall find

Such shall have minds set on you for always

Because they trust in you all night and days

Trust in the LORD for ever, to Him hold

In the LORD JEHOVAH be you strong, bold

For in Him is strength, it everlasting

'Tis found in Him, the great eternal King

Forgive where we doubt, mistrust, faith grows dim

Restore, renew our trust only in Him

For He brings down the high ones, the lofty

Brings them down to the ground, to the dust, see

Even the feet of poor, needy shall tread

The mighty down, for God the word has said

With my soul I desire you in the night

Lord, come to me, and dawn now on my sight

Early I will seek you, for when there be

Your judgement on earth, then righteousness free

Thanks SB. Erm, yes. Maybe it means the same person, and the same name, i.e. in essence.

            Good one Orchi.

"For He brings down the high ones, the lofty

Brings them down to the ground, to the dust, see

Even the feet of poor, needy shall tread

The mighty down, for God the word has said"

            I wish this would happen.

Thanks Gold. Yes, in some other places it says 'Why do the wicked prosper'; 'They are not in troubles like others are'; etc.
Somehow the meek will inherit the earth.
