In this world we hear so much news,
So much bad news.
All the ills in our world is all we hear,
All we hear on the news,
As it is the bad things in life
Are all the news brings to us.
But I believe there is good in our world,
Many people help each other,
Give pleasantness to so many people.
Just saying thank you to somebody,
Or even smiling at them
Brings much joy to so many,
But we do not here about it.
I have a belief that in our world
Ninety nine percent of people are good
And bring joy and love to so many,
But all we here about
Is the one percent,
The one percent that are bad,
And bring sadness and hate to so few.

This is why I do not watch the news anymore. The imbalance is such that it warps the minds of those watching leaving the impression that all is bad. Well stated Andy.

Wow, what a good point. Where's the good news? The only things reported are negative and worrisome. They should put on a positive news show, where they report on the good things in life. 🙂

Have to agree with you Andy. My father used to say the same thing that all he ever hears on the news is how someone was murdered or about the ongoing wars. It was so hard for him to cheer up in his last years of life. Our world is too focused on the negativity and not enough for the positive things in life.

I do need the news to find out what my government is not doing on my behalf, as for the rest ....the choices are stark - reach for the Valium , the whisky or whatever, ignore, or become amused at the stupidity of the human condition and laugh....
