Tune: Michael
('All my hope on God is founded')
Psalm 71 v.1-5
*********
In you, O Lord, I put my trust
Though I be mere man and dust
Let me never be confused, shamed
I you as my Lord have named
Save me, you righteous be
Show way of escape to me
Incline your ear to me, save me
Out of hand of enemy
Be you my strong habitation
Lord of each race and nation
To you I continual
Resort, you my safety all
Save me, O God, out of h hand
Of the wicked, so I stand
With you as my rock and fortress
Come unto me, and me bless
For you, Lord, my hope be
No and through eternity

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.7.8.7.8.7. We had a lesson one Sunday, from a Vicar whose favourite hymn was this one, of how to sing the last line of each verse. The 'elongated note' is the one that is two syllables before the end of the line, shown in bold here. Very technical!

Trust is a big word for someone you can't see and or hear. Someone that asks for money. I guess it could be worse he could ask for your first son as he did Abraham. good write Orchi
Thanks SB. In a 2-yearly Reading Plan, one year has that Abraham story, but this year it was the 'other' year's reading. Phew, say preachers? Won't have to untangle that until next year!
meanwhile - a church TRUSTS we have dough (cash) in our pockets without seeing it, and will give it to them. Doh!
Wonderful write.
Thanks T.
