Let me teach you how to Pray.

David Wakeling

Oh Abundant Spirit let me be with you,
Let my life be purposeful,
And as I face the Fires of Evil,
You will cloak me in your Love,
Let the Storms of pettiness rage for I will not be afraid,
I will follow the path of the courageous,
The pathway to your glory.

The darkness will not engulf my hope,
I know that when Death comes I will welcome it,
And my wish is surely to be welcomed to your heart.
And as it is written so shall it be

Amen

    Good write D.
For some, it's the process of actually dying that's the fear, e.g. some chronic, drawn-out illness.
I could possibly set this to a hymn-tune, with your permission. I won't quote you verbatim.

Erm, need to think of a tune now - though your poem sounds hymn-like!
