O Abundant Spirit

orchidee

Tune: Langran

('Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face')

Adapted with permission, based on poem by

David Wakeling: 'Let me teach you how to pray'.

****************

O Abundant Spirit, now let me be

With you and live my life purposefully

And as I face the Fires of Evil you

Will cloak me in your Love safe, secure too

Let the storms of pettiness rage for I

Will not be afraid, and not you deny

I will follow path of the courageous

The pathway to your glory planned for us

The darkness, it will not engulf my hope

With your help and providings I shall cope

I know that when Death comes I will welcome

It, my wish to be welcomed to your Home

I remember years ago, back in the dark ages, asking if I could be a street sweeper.

Nope - death's no friend really. It's called 'the last enemy' which shall be seen to defeated on the final day.

Three wonderful stanzas that speak to the courage we must find within, only we choose. A very wise write my friend.

Thanks B. Not 'all my own work', as you see in the heading.
