Lemon Lined Streets
I just thought you might
like to know,
I still find riding through
all these
narrow cobbled streets,
each one lined
both sides, with lemon
trees and at speed
on a borrowed red bicycle
as exhilarating
today as ever I did, when
we were both
still naïve and young lovers ..

Sounds like a southern Italian street to me and how very romantic. I'm not going to lie this romantic muse is my favourite of yours. πΉ
Bless you Teddy, amongst a few other places, I aim to hit Rome, Florence, Naples, La Spezia, Sicily & Sardinia in January .. they each (maybe Rome a little less so) hold so many fond memories for this old soul .. but if life was nowt but a bowl of lemons, I wouldn't write about anything else .. πππΉ
I was I'm Rome just the other week an amazing history but quite dark for me. πΉ
Wonderful times remembered of times brought to today Neville.

We are a long time dead. This poem speaks to me about making the most of life. This imagery makes me smile. I see an older bloke in his Leviβs acting like a kid. Let that inner child out. Speed on cobbled stones on a bike, I ask you. I like the lemon trees for their symbolism. Have an easy Monday Neville.
I have long been an avid subscriber to the philosophy you have more than adequately alluded to our Chris .. and I am indeed an older bloke perhaps happiest in his Levi's .. I sincerely hope you have a magic Monday Cassie ..

A fine write N.
KP likes streets lined with b...... you knows it! lol
sometimes in life, even though it might seem obvious, it pays to spell it out to avoid both disappointment and confusion ..
It can only be one word, if related to KP - answers on a postcard, please. Clue: 5 letters in the word.
Pneumatic tyres then, Neville? π
Only the very best mate .. ππ
I confess to many younger days riding my bike all over town N. That rear view mirror never disappoints. Great write. ππ
neva keep ya eye on the road was probably some of the worst advice I woz ever given .. but fun at the time .. ππ
I thought it was, "never take your eyes OFF the road". Either way, so great sights along the way. π
