Resorting to Refuge

orchidee

Tune: St Michael

('The Lord is risen indeed')

Psalm 91 v.1-4

********

They who in the secret

Place of the most High yet

Do dwell, such shall abide under

The shadow of God sure

He be the Almighty

We may say to Him, see

He is my refuge, my fortress

Shall save me from distress

in Him will I trust, He

Shall our protector be

Shall save us from traps and perils

They shall not o'ercome us

He shall cover you here

With His feathers, draw near

To you, under His wings shall you

Trust, take refuge, 'tis true

His truth shall be your shield

His power He shall wield

On your behalf shall show Him[self] strong

We may trust all life long

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.8.6. It's easy to trust when we've nothing, or nothing much, to trust for, if all is going cosily for us and our loved ones. But we can trust, feeling we are trusting, or with no feelings maybe, through problems, troubles, illness, etc, whatever. You got that golden lyre of yours out, as in the hymn? Play it loud enough to drown me out. lol.
