Time to Call Time
At the very same time
the words
for a poem I may now
never write
came to me last night ..
I thought
I felt the coolness of
your palm
rest light, across the lid
of both
my tightly closed eyes ..
And in that
very same moment,
the light
shined through them ..
It was then
I realised I was blinded
and the room
filled up with patchouli
yet again ..
So I decided to discard
my prescription
Ray-Bans, and call time ..

A poem may be lost, but in return the cool touch of a palm, across closed tired eyes giving them light. Whatβs not to like about that?
what a blessing that could be after a stressful day
patchouli, wards off negative energy and attracts positive spirits of love and peace,
it has healing properties
maybe a good nightβs sleep was in store
Have a good day Neville, on this wet April Saturday. Love the scent of patchouli. .
Note to self .. stock up on patchouli .. Cheers Chris & ta for the thumbs up ππ
Time in or time out, Its well penned N. π
Cheers Mate .. sorry about the late response, Its been one o them days .. βΉοΈ
No problem Mate, I got nothing but time om my hands. π€
How was it when ya felt a piggy paw of mine across your tightly closed eyes?! lol.
I think you must have been dreaming .. either that or wishful thinking .. π
As they say "Dreams are the windows of our souls", and they can be can be very powerful. Sometimes it seems we don't write the poems at all, we simply take dictation. Sleep well my friend and cherish that wonderful stage of sleep, for it leads to your wonderful words.
Bless you Bella .. I slept like a baby last night for the first time in ages .. and would you believe it, the call of a cuckoo woke me .. another first, in even more ages .. π
That certainly happened to me, but sometimes we have to let them go, most annoying but just a fact of musing with the tired mind. Wonderful πΉ
Thanks for the thumbs up Teddy ππΉ
Patchouli over there is, given the distances involved, no substitute for a poem lost, which could have, perhaps, transcended time and space, thus reaching here in all its innate perfection...and so on.... got any spare commas anyone? π
my word, how well you filled that little rectangle sir .. not only am I mightily impressed, but I am indeed, also both honoured and humbled .. you aint really an old dog are ya .. you are a chameleon .. but not any ordinary common or garden chameleon, you are a comma, comma, comma, comma chameleon ... cheers Daveππ
Change colour a lot - see my other unresponded (new unacceptable?) to contributions...... Keep up the good work, Neville.
Waking up from dreams can leave you in a wonderful place Neville.
Andy
