Tune: Herongate
('It is a thing most wonderful')
Hosea 6 v.4
For St Philip & St James Day - May 1.
**********
Is our love like a morning mist
Which lasts a while, yet not persist?
Love for our Lord, who His life gave
In His love, sinners for to save
Philip and James, apostles they
Followed Christ daily in His way
He Himself the way, the world's Light
Giving to us spiritual sight
Will we stay with Him, He our Friend
Who loved and cared until the end
Then died and rose again, loves still
Ever doing His Father's will
They who unto the end endure
Shall be saved, this be true for sure
Lord, inspire us afresh that we
Follow, e'en if small our spark be

I kinda get this .. but then I've got a thing about mist
Thanks N. I missed the bus. is that the same thing?! lol.
Is it the fire we seek?
Thanks 2. There's the old Salvation Army hymn: 'Send the fire'. That's a bit of the Chorus of 'Thou Christ, of cleansing, burning flame''
I was listening intently to one of those modern day "prophets.'
He said the church has to be like the days of acts and bring down fire, like Elijah.
Sound familiar?
It’s all there, orchi:
Stanza the first – ‘love like a morning mist’
Stanza the second – ‘spiritual sight’
Stanza the third – ‘cared until the end’
Stanza the fourth and final – ‘They who unto the end endure Shall be saved…
So all you gotta do is hang in there. KP will be amply rewarded in her own inimitable way, and you have a clear shot at the Pearly Gates…..
Thanks Dave. You hanging on there too?!
I was gonna endure to the end as The Birdman, but fell off a cliff! lol.
That's because you were only hanging on - you didn't hang in.
Good one Orchi
Thanks Gold.
