GONE ARE THOSE DAYS...

Lady C

Gone are those days
When Virginity was a Virtue,
And her Love was Pure and True.
When her body was her treasure.
And in decency she found pleasure,
When clothes were meant to conceal
And her word was the seal.

 Gone are those days
When her breast was meant to nurture,
And she was ready to face the torture.
When his word was her command,
And hardwork his demand.
When their wellbeing was her pride,
And their success her might.

And May the days be gone,
When husband and wife are clothed in shamelessness,
And the society thrives in callousness.
When son wars against father,
And daughter despises mother.
When Virtue is called Folly,
And Vice is equal to Wisdom.

Oh! May the good old days come.
May better days come.

    Bring 'em on!

I really liked this for the honesty of its expression. But I'm not too sure of where you are heading. The good old days don't seem from your description too good to me.
Enjoy your stay at MPS. An interactive site, it works best when poets respond to other’s work and reply to commentary on their own poetry.

Some things in the past are worth remembering, but not everything and family can bring both good and bad memories. The good old days for me are more about how people treated others. Values have changed. I don’t find as much kindness in a fast moving, chaotic world. Maybe my age is showing. I enjoyed my visit here Lady C.
