Possessing Peace

orchidee

Tune: Old Hundredth

('All people that on earth do dwell')

Philippians 4 v.4-7

*******

Rejoice in the Lord for always

Again I say, Rejoice all days

Let your moderation be known

Balanced life to all folk be shown

For the Lord is at hand, so be

Anxious for nothing, He will see

To your needs, so in everything

Your requests unto the Lord bring

In your supplications and prayers

With thanksgiving, needs with Him share

And the peace of God you shall find

And that His true mercies are kind

His peace passes understanding

It shall keep your hearts, minds, each thing

Through Christ Jesus our Lord, His Son

God will hear, answer you, each one

Sadly, despite what we might be hearing, there just isn't enough of it about ..
I'm talking peace, while others may just be pretending .. we shall just have to wait and see ..

    Good message tho Orchidee ..

Mate, I go along with at least some of your hymns because I respect your sincerity.
But your second stanza is pure rocking horse excrement. Look around at the world, why doncha,

        Not bad over here.

Get off - not bad for whom?

The writings on the wall, and the path is mapped out.
Everyone can see it, but no one speaks the truth.
We look for scapegoats and tear each other apart,
When the truth of the matter is in each individual heart.
His yoke is easy, and his burden is light.
            He is fullness of joy.
            No need to fight.

You and I are going to part company again.

Thanks D. Well, seeing as rocking horses don't....... there could be truth in that stanza.
Depends if we believe it, and bring our needs to Him or not, I suppose.
Well, St Paul believed it, if we do or not.

I like the idea that gratitude should be voiced. It simply should precede any asking. Too often prayers are only asking. Good write Orchi

Thanks SB. Yes, at times prayers might become like a bit of a shopping list.
