Prayer Persevering

orchidee

Tune: St Fulbert

('Ye choirs of new Jerusalem')

Mark 11 v.22-24

******

Jesus said, Have faith in God, for

I say to you true, sure

That who to this mount shall say

Be you removed this day

And be you cast into the sea

Thence ne'er to rise, so be

Whoso shall not doubt in their heart

From belief not depart

But if believing that those things

Which they say, no doubtings

But believing that what they say

Shall come to pass some way

Such ones shall have whate'er they say

So Jesus says today

What things soever you desire

When you to prayer aspire

Believe that you those things receive

Hold on, and still believe

And you shall have them, God's good time

Be seen in life's fine rhyme

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. for this Rogation Wednesday ('Asking Wednesday'). We might not all be seeking to move a 'mountain', but maybe smaller things. But persevere on!

I wish KP would be uprooted and cast into the sea sometimes - but she never does! lol. She's my 'mountain' - more in the sense of ball and chain on my leg though. heehee.

You prayers have to be in God's will.

perseverance is a strategy for life, not just for christmas and I would wholly endorse the practice of it throughout ..

My father was a believer in the moving of mountains he worked in a mine. He said "we move a little bit each day and faith without works is dead"
