some have found their silver
though others search for gold
some are hooked on passion
afraid they’ll end up cold
and some are never satisfied
with a fear of growing old
yet most are quite content it seems
to find an anchor’s solid hold
in the safety of a harbour
now surely that is priceless
those arms that long to love you
far better than lost treasure
more valuable than gold

I see a romance between sea and land fabulous. Metaphor full of wisdom, I'd choose a solid place on a harbour rather than gold any day. 🌹
Thank you Teddy. Have a lovely Tuesday. 🌺
I've got a thing about harbours too Cassie and the safety they afford ..
Connections is an excellent poem for several reasons .. and it sits pretty as well, simply crying out to be read .. Neville
Many thanks Neville. Happy sunny Tuesday.
The whole piece pivots around that central stanza, and right in the centre of that is 'content' which just nails it.
Nails me too - because I am.
So well told, Cassie.
